Field Day/Powder Puff

Field Day/Powder Puff -
On Tuesday, May 27th our middle school students will be enjoying a fun filled day of sun and competition at our annual field day.  This year we have decided to host our Powder Puff Flag Football game during the morning hours.  This game is played every year in honor of a former faculty member of LCS, Steve Luisi.

Click here for the order form for powder puff game t-shirts.  The cost of the shirts are $9.00.  The form and money must be turned in no later than Wednesday, May 21st to homeroom teachers.

Our afternoon will be filled with fun while students will compete in intramural style team vs team match ups.

Mr Lykes will also be spinning the turntables at our DJ booth.

PLEASE REMEMBER.  Students will be responsible for their own lunch for field day.  We will not be providing them lunch that day.

SAFETY
Mrs. Elizabeth Abernathy our athletic trainer will be in attendance and available for any injuries that may occur during field day. It will be important for our students to make sure they are hydrating during the day and also the day/night before. Make sure you stress this to them.  Each student should carry a water bottle during the day to ensure proper hydration.
Please also stress the importance of sunscreen during this day as it will be very easy this time of year to become sunburned. Ball caps can also be worn to protect against sunburn.

AND - if your child requires an epi-pen or inhaler they will need to keep that with them during the day, or if a doctor's note is not on file here at school to permit the student to self-administer the medication, then they will need to make sure the medication is in the possession of their supervising teacher.

We look forward to a fun and active day with your students!

Myra Tranquilino - Naturalization Oath Taking Ceremony

My journey started September 14, 2003. Arriving in US with  H1 working visa and 50 dollars in my pocket and no driving experience. From H1 visa to US Working Permit then Permanent Resident Card, the last part... test and interview for my Citizenship ( glad I have social studies class!). Not to mention that one of my document was sent to Panama and they forgot to send my green card on time.

It has been a very long journey and you have been there every step of the way.
THANK YOU SO MUCH MY LCS FAMILY!!!! Finally after 11 years  I made it.
